REVIVING A HISTORIC TOKYO OFFICE BUILDING WITH A Anamorphic IDENTITY SYSTEM

Wayfinding

Aoyama is a mid-century building located in the heart of Tokyo. Born in the 60s, it was left at the mercy of a penny pinching new owner in the 80s. In 2016, Roman and Williams was brought in to bring the building back to life. The building was re-invented, from top to bottom, including bustling new businesses in the basement and ground floors. We collaborated on a branding system that included a logo, custom typeface, signage and wayfinding.

The custom tile mural adjacent to the subway station was a graphic collage of deconstructed "O" from the Aoyama logo.
